Press release from: Naidex National

Healthcare professionals attending the UK’s largest disability, homecare and rehabilitation show Naidex National (Birmingham NEC, 5 - 7April) will once again have the opportunity to enhance their CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

Over 5,000 healthcare professionals attended Naidex 2010 to benefit from and experience the latest new products, learn about the issues facing the profession and gain CPD certificates to demonstrate their commitment to finding out about cutting edge changes to their profession. It is anticipated that this number will be exceeded at Naidex National.

Continuous professional development (CPD) is key to any health professional keeping up to date on new and evolving clinical or strategic topics and it is never so important in this year when both Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists are due to be audited by the HPC. The 2011 Naidex National CPD seminar program covers not only new developments and research in practice, but will enable HCPs to keep up to date on government changes and its impacts on their clinical field of expertise. These seminars are free of charge and run by experts in their field and are a must for professionals to attend.

Once again, the CPD seminar programme has been developed by Kate Sheehan, Director of The OT Practice who has been practising as an OT for 24 years. Kate has spent the last ten years working in the commercial and independent sector and is committed to enhancing client choice and control and promoting the emerging opportunities for healthcare professionals.

One of the highlights of the three day seminar programme is sure to be given by Physiofunction at 11:30am on April 6th. The session will discuss the benefits of using the Nintendo Wii and other technology in the rehabilitation of patients being treated for strokes, spinal cord injuries and Parkinsons. In addition to the presentation there will also be a demonstration of the Wii.
