Corporate Award of the Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons

The Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons (CFPDP) has honoured Otto Bock HealthCare Canada in Toronto with its prestigious Corporate Award. The award was presented at the Great Valentine Gala with 900 guests, an annual event that recognises the enduring commitment to people with disabilities since 1991.

In announcing its decision, the Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons stated that "Otto Bock HealthCare has been an international leader in rehabilitation technology for more than 90 years, with an extensive line of products including prosthetics, orthotics,
mobility devices such as wheelchairs and neuroimplants".

Otto Bock made a special contribution to the 2010 Paralympics. This event marked the premiere of the "Discover What Moves Us" exhibition at the Snow Dome in Whistler in cooperation with the International Paralympic Committee. 23,000 visitors obtained information on the background of Paralympic sports at the exhibition close to the competition venues.

The Canadian branch of the German company Otto Bock was founded in 1978. "I am proud of our team and the work they are doing. Helping people with disabilities to achieve greater independence and enhanced quality of life is the most rewarding aspect of our daily work. I was very pleased to share our enthusiasm for this task with so many people here," said Mark Agro, CEO of Otto Bock Canada.

Otto Bock is carrying on its commitment to the Paralympics at the 2012 games in London. The organisation committee LOCOG has chosen the company to provide technical service to athletes from around the world.
