Chic Teak Partners Visit Yogyakarta Following the Mount Merapi Eruption

Press release from: Chic Teak

/ PR Agency: Chic Teak
Basingstoke, United Kingdom (18 February, 2011) - Chic Teak, a leading supplier of outdoor garden furniture, recently visited their workshop plantation in Yogyakarta for the first time since the devastating Mount Merapi eruption in December 2010.

In February 2011, Chic Teak's partners visited their government-controlled workshop plantation located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This was the first time they had visited Yogyakarta since the devastating eruption of the Mount Merapi volcano in December 2010. The partners found that traffic was understandably slow due to ash and mud slides from the remnants of the eruption, and that roads close to the volcano were buried in materials which were washed down by the rain.

While Chic Teak's partners reported that Yogyakarta was quite chaotic and crowded, they were pleased to find that their products only needed minor modifications, and that they could be dispatched within 10 days. The partners were also delighted with the result of their new bespoke tree bench, which is the largest bench Chic Teak can provide to their customers with an internal diameter of 3.6M. This tree teak bench is available in eight sections and is accompanied with chunky legs to distribute the weight evenly, and photographs of their new bespoke tree bench are available on the Chic Teak website.

Sarah Bowden of Chic Teak commented: "We at Chic Teak were naturally concerned about the well being of Indonesian citizens and our Yogyakarta employees when Mount Merapi erupted in 2010. We would like to express our deepest sympathies to Indonesian citizens whose lives have been devastated by these eruptions. We would also like to reassure our customers that our teak garden furniture is available for delivery and we maintain the same high standards and unrivalled levels of customer service."

For more information on Chic Teak and their teak furniture, visit their website at http://www.chicteak.co.uk/ or telephone 0845 390 5000.
