Early demand for the new segmented tyre system has been staggering. JCB, Caterpillar and Bobcat already feature among their clients. AirBoss tyres have greater traction than foam or pneumatic options due to their wider footprint and surface contact. If a segment is damaged, the operator can safely replace it within minutes, keeping downtime to a minimum.
The ability to replace single segments is a huge appeal to AirBoss’ clients. An AirBoss system, with a specifically tailored disc, roughly costs £1000. Once installed, the operator has complete control without additional service or callout charges. New segments cost between £6 - £14.
Damage itself is rare to AirBoss segments. In most modern tyres a small crack slowly migrates until the tyre becomes unusable. AirBoss segments contain silica that fills cracks before this can happen. Segments are packed closely together for mutual support and are fire resistant.
AirBoss can supply clients with an ample stock of spare segments and offer a frequent service option. The system is now an optional fitting for all plant vehicles. OEMs should Ask for AirBoss.
