Press release from: Walden Behavioral Care

/ PR Agency: Kowal Communications, Inc.
WORCESTER, Mass., Feb. 23, 2010 – Walden Behavioral Care, LLC of Waltham, one of the country’s leading hospitals for treating eating disorders, announced today that it will hold an open house at its new Worcester office at 335 Chandler St. from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2011.

The open house will feature President and CEO Stuart L. Koman, Ph.D., founder of Walden Behavioral Care, and Worcester Mayor Joseph C. O’Brien.

A reception will take place at the Nu Café, located in the same building, which is at the former site of Tatnuck Bookseller.

“We opened the Worcester office based on feedback from healthcare professionals in the region who expressed the need for a treatment center for eating disorders,” according to Koman. “While the facility is brand new, we are already experiencing significant demand that is rapidly increasing.”

The new facility provides outpatient treatment for adults 17 and older. Patients who need more intensive treatment are treated at Walden’s Waltham location, which provides in-patient, residential and partial hospitalization care. Walden also operates an eating disorders clinic in Northampton, Mass., and other satellite programs are being planned.

Walden treats patients with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge-eating disorder.
