Local Female Entrepreneur, Suzie Yorke, Named The Winner of The 2019 Mompreneur® Start-Up Award

TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA (March 6, 2019) – The seventh annual Mompreneur® awards has proven lucky for Suzie Yorke, from Toronto, Ontario, who has been crowned one of Canada’s top women in business by her peers and the community! Suzie Yorke was awarded the 2019 Mompreneur® Start-Up Award.

Suzie is the Founder and CEO of Love Good Fats, a popular line of keto-friendly bars. A mom, eleven-time Ironman competitor and yoga enthusiast, Suzie spent years adhering to a low-fat diet only to hit a wall in her mid-40s. After reading Nina Teicholz’s best seller, Big Fat Surprise, she immediately shifted to a high-fat, low-carb diet, and felt better right away. While she loved the health benefits of her new lifestyle, Suzie found it challenging to find convenient, healthy-fat snacks. Seeing a gap in the marketplace and a huge opportunity to help others through food, Suzie developed Love Good Fats just 18 months ago. Since then, the brand has become hugely successful in Canada and most recently expanded their distribution to the United States at all Whole Foods locations in January 2019. Today, Suzie leads Love Good Fats’ expansion as it quickly becomes one of the fastest-growing bar brands in North America and is on a mission to spread the word that fat is back, and sugar is out!

Heba Ahmed Malki of Domilya Group Inc., from Milton, ON has been named Canada’s Mompreneur® of the Year for 2019 and has been awarded the main award, The Mompreneur® Award of Excellence, receiving over $30,000 in cash and services.

Over 1,250 women were nominated, and 152 entrants advanced; and after accumulating points based on support from over 20,000 public voters within one week, as well as impression ratings from a selection committee, the finalists were narrowed down to just 28 finalists in the five categories.

The finalists were evaluated by an expert panel of nine respected judges evaluating the finalists, including CEO of Ehm & Co., and publisher of the YMC Erica Ehm, Co-Founder of Mabel’s Labels, Media Personality and Digital Influencer Julie Cole, and Tech-maven, Best-selling author and President of AmberMac Media, Amber MacArthur—all who undertook a rigorous review process to select their top picks in each category.
