Berry Review Sound Id Bluetooth Headset Is Definitely A Good Device

SoundID sent us a demo unit of their new Bluetooth headset the 510 which combines with a BlackBerry application to enhance the functionality. The application for the BlackBerry supports the Curve 8900, Tour 9630, Bold 9650, Bold 9700, Torch 9800, Storm 9550, Storm 9530 and Storm 9520. The application can be downloaded from app world at this link. One of the things that annoys me about Bluetooth’s is that they use different style of USB chargers or to update them via PC. With this one it uses A Micro USB the same that my BlackBerry uses so is super easy to charge with any BB USB or you can use the small USB that comes with the device.

Using the device:

The device charges fast and last quite a while it takes on a single charge and the use of the Micro USB makes it really convenient to charge. Both the ear loops and clip around the ear are comfortable to use for a long period of time. The easy on and off switch allows you to instantly turn it on/off without any hassle. The coolest feature by far is the touch sensor to turn the volume up and down, you simply swipe forward to turn it down and backwards to turn it up. Call quality is really clear and works decently even on noisy areas.

It allows for software upgrade through PC if your have bought one I suggest looking into it because the newest update allows for A2DP stereo music stream and voice guided directions in combination with GPS apps.
EarPrint App

The EarPrint app allows you to control several features of the SoundID bluetooth including Phone, Music, and Pass-Thru. From the application you can click on find my handset incase you misplace the phone, turn on and off the LED indicator, show battery status, noise level.

One of the other useful features is the ability to play with the sound quality while you are listening to music, on a call, or Pass Thru Mode click on the EarPrint App Personal section and drag the target until you find a comfort level.

The application is still in beta so it has some room for improvement but overall the experience is nice and the Bluetooth is definitely a good device.
