He takes immense pride in having played a stellar role in LCA Tejas Production including their induction into service and for bringing in Public- Private Partnership as well as setting up of additional line for accelerated production of LCA programme and for steering the Mirage and Jaguar series upgradation programme.

Skilled in Aerospace Manufacturing, Sourcing, Vendor Development, Customer Service and Strategic Planning, he is one among the highly experienced and respected professional in the aerospace industry. He has also been a Council Member of Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies and Industries (SIATI) and Member of Board of Directors of Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC).

HAL Bangalore Complex comprises of 10 Divisions Aircraft, Engines manufacturing and Repair & Overhaul facility, Aerospace Structures manufacture, Castings and Forgings manufacture to meet the requirement of Indian Defence Forces, Space Programmes and Export Customers. Armed with a BE (Hons) Mechanical Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science BITS, Pilani which is one among the top ranking as well as Institution of Excellence in India today, he joined HAL in 1979 as a Management Trainee (Technical).

In his career of nearly four decades, Kaveri Renganathan served HAL in various positions in Aircraft Assembly, Customer Services, Production Engineering, Integrated Material Management, Outsourcing and Project Management functions. He had played his role in Aircraft Division, Engine Division Bangalore and Corporate Office. He was holding the position of Executive Director in Corporate Office responsible for all activities related to Corporate Planning, Projects, Joint Ventures, Indigenization, IT and MSD functions.

Along with 91 batch mates who studied with him during 1974 – 1979 at Pilani campus, Kaveri attended the Ruby Jubilee Celebrations RJR scheduled during 22-24 Feb 2019. He was accompanied by his wife Bama. As a matter of fact, this batch had celebrated its Silver Jubilee Reunion SJR in 2004 during Oct 1-3 and has the reputation for triggering the race for large SJR turnout at Pilani year after year. On 23 Feb 2019, he visited his department and interacted with current generation students. When the Vice Chancellor Prof Souvik Bhattacharyya pointed out that one of the major issues faced in higher education institutions including IITs was faculty shortages, Proud to be BITSian Kaveri Ranganathan offered to play the role of Adjunct Faculty for his Alma mater.

Beaming with pride, he said that the 5 years he had been at Pilani gave him the strength to face challenges and acquire a cosmopolitan outlook. He was happy to have been a student in classes taught by MIT Boston Professors under the BITS MIT Collaboration. In his opinion, a successful corporate professional requires Resource mobilization acumen, Negotiation Skills, Information Skills, Problem Solving Skills, Decision Making Skills and Communication Skills apart from Ability for Leadership, Time, Stress and Project Management.

He had no hesitation in declaring that the broad based integrated and interdisciplinary approach of education at BITS, Pilani gave him ample opportunities from admissions to graduations for developing such skills and gave him the Never Say Die Attitude. He also had words of praise for HAL in-house leadership development programme which imparted what B Schools do not teach.

The Movers and Shakers of the 74-79 batch CS Goel, Mukesh Asija, Rajiv Milind, Ajay Gupta, Anil Lodha and Sudipto who organized the Ruby Jubilee Reunion are planning for the GJR Golden Jubilee Reunion in 2024 in a grander scale. When it comes to Alumni Alma mater connect, BITS Pilani undoubtedly is no way less than the Ivy league institutions.
