Maximilian Birkenfeld studied economics at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal and psychology at the FernUniversität in Hagen. He taught business administration and economics as a lecturer for many years. As co-founder, he founded a successful start-up in 2012.

Maximilian Birkenfeld is married, has a three-year-old daughter and lives with his family on the tranquil Lower Rhine. After living and working in Hamburg for over ten years, he returned to the Lower Rhine to devote himself entirely to writing.
