The Countdown To The “Lord Of The Wind Showdown” Event, Los Barriles, Baja Sur, Mexico, Has Begun

The “Lord of the Wind Showdown” event will take place in Los Barriles, which is located in Baja Sur, Mexico. It will be hosted by the beautiful Hotel Palmas de Cortez, right on the beach in the heart of town.

Los Barriles, Baja Sur - January 07, 2011 -- The final countdown for the “Lord of the Wind Showdown” in Los Barriles, Baja Sur, Mexico has begun with the event commencing on January 12, 2011. The beach side event will be jam packed with beach themed events and world class competitions. The event will run full steam ahead and end, 5 days later, on January 16, 2011.

The “Lord of the Wind Showdown” event will take place in Los Barriles, which is located in Baja Sur, Mexico. It will be hosted by the beautiful Hotel Palmas de Cortez, right on the beach in the heart of town. The town itself is known for its charming personality, wonderful local food, spectacular beaches and world class sport fishing. And, most importantly for the event, it is also known as a premier kite board and windsurfing location. Kite boarding is has quickly become one of the fasting growing sports worldwide, and sport enthusiasts flock to the region to take advantage of the amazing locale and the spectacular Sea of Cortez.

The event will kick off at Hotel Palmas de Cortez on Wednesday with registration and live band entertainment. The following days will be jam packed with sporting activities. The events include course racing, slalom courses, freestyle competitions, a big air competition, and the grand finale of a race to Rancho Buena Vista. The day events are designed for both expert and amateur kite boarders and windsurfers alike. The evenings will feature activities ranging from a bikini contest, a battle of the bands, bonfire beach parties, a pig roast, and live DJ music on the beach.
