Time flies! If you wonder how, turn the pages of this decade 10 years back to 2000, it was the time when Backstreet Boys released their “Black & Blue” album that went on to become the only album having sales of 5 million copies in its first week of release. Black & Blue is the best album of the Backstreet Boys career history and even the top singers of current era could not cross the number of first week sales recorded by the album. Backstreet Boys, who released their latest album titled “This Is Us” in 2008, is again in limelight after the announcement of their joint tour with the band “New Kids on the Block” a household name and a rival to BSB in 1990s.
BSB and NKOTB or most commonly known as NKOTBSB will kick start its next summer tour in March 2011. NKOTBSB is a first of its type tour that stands the two former rival bands on a single musical platform. NKOTBSB tour announcement brought a wave of amusement among fans and demand for the shows was so high forcing organizers to add 18 more dates to the tour including second shows to Chicago and Toronto where first shows are already sold out. BSB and NKOTB fans who already have experienced the chemistry between both bands during the their first ever collaborative performance at the Radio City Music Hall in June can imagine how their dreams to see their favorite bands performing live in their own cities will come true.
NKOTBSB will open their 2011 tour at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncasville, CT on June 2, 2011 after their June3, 4, 5 & 7 shows in Washington, Boston, Philadelphia and Montreal they will head to Canada for performing two concerts on June 8 & 9 at the Air Canada Centre, Toronto, ON. Their combined US tour will make stops in all major US cities including Uniondale, East Rutherford, Pittsburgh, and Detroit, Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, Lafayette, Houston, Texas, Phoenix,, Las Angeles, San Jose, Las Vegas, Tacoma and Vancouver. Some of these shows are either sold out or close to that, however most of the shows opens public sales of Backstreet Boys tickets on Saturday, December 11. NKOTBSB tour features Joey McIntyre, A.J. McLean, Jordan Knight, Howie Dorough, Jonathan Knight, Donnie Wahlberg, Brian Littrell, Danny Wood and Nick Carter excluding Kevin Richardson, former member of BSB who left the band in 2006.
