AZ magazine and BestCompaniesAZ team up to produce the 2011

Top 25 Workplaces for Women in Arizona, Empowering Leadership, Diversity and Innovation.

PHOENIX, Ariz. December 19, 2010 -- AZ magazine, a publication of Republic Media, has joined forces with BestCompaniesAZ, to identify the “Top 25 Workplaces for Woman in Arizona” to be published in the March issue of az magazine.

For more than 15 years, Arizona Woman Magazine, now az magazine, has honored the “Top 25 Workplaces for Woman” in Arizona recognizing employers that have set the standard for women initiatives in the workplace. This special annual issue was recently voted by the readers of az magazine as a favorite feature in the magazine.

“Our goal for 2011 is to reignite the power of women and open up doors in the Arizona workforce for women as our economy begins to recover,” says Cami Kaiser, general manager for Republic Media.

Women have a significant impact on the economy, according to a recent report from the Arizona’s Women’s Leadership forum:

• 50% of the workforce is made up of women.
• 15% of the boards of are made up of women. A very low statistic considering the balance of the women in the workforce
• 15% of Congress is made up of women. A new balance of power.
• 18% of top leadership is made up by women. A very low statistic.
• 50% of the voting population is made up of women
• Statistics have shown that companies have a much higher rate of return on investment when two or more women are on the board.
