Our High Yield Plant

Our High Yield Plant

Singapore, 19 December 2010 – Singaporean biofuels company, Biofuelsasia has made a major breakthrough in developing the plant identified by Goldman Sachs as one of “… the most efficient biofuel feedstocks”. The plant named Java 6 is able to produce between 4 – 6 tons of biodiesel per hectare of land annually. This is greatly superior to existing Jatropha lines which produce between 1.5 – 2 tons of biodiesel per hectare annually.

The company is currently supplying Java 6 to plantations in China and Indonesia. It is also in the process of developing its own plantation in East Malaysia. Oil produced from Jatropha is ideal for producing drop-in fuels because of its high energy content and simple processing for use in diesel engines.

Biofuelsasia supplies stem cuttings to plantations which enable flowering within 3 months and fruiting by the sixth month. This has the beneficial effect of improving cash-flows for the plantations and investors.

Such a technological breakthrough marks a significant turning point for biofuels in gaining traction as a commercially viable and environmentally friendly source of renewable energy for the world economy.

Founded in 2009, Biofuelsasia Private Limited (BFA) is the World leader in Jatropha Hybrid development and commercialization. It is also engaged in consultancy and yield enhancement programs for plantations.
