From Friday August 26th through Sunday August 28th, 2011, the World Peace Festival (WPF) will host the largest peace event in history at the iconic Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, a location symbolic of peace, unity, hope and the opening of frontiers. The World Peace Festival will bring together the leaders from art, film, business, politics, government, military and of course Nobel Peace Prize winners. The Mayor of Berlin is preparing the city for over 1 million people, along with a target TV and Internet audience of over 1 billion.
In recent weeks, luminaries such as Deepak Chopra, Nobel Peace Prize winners like Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama, outstanding philanthropists such as Warren Buffett’s son Peter and business leaders such as Richard Branson have officially declared their support for us. Major stars have expressed great enthusiasm in working with the World Peace Festival including Peter Gabriel, Gerard Butler and Sharon Stone.
With three days of music, film, visual art, and a day-long peace conference, the WPF will inspire and empower people to be more at peace with themselves, others and the environment. In the words of Desmond Tutu, “this great event is a milestone for our times – a turning point in the efforts of hundreds of thousands of people worldwide to transform violent conflict. It merits you whole-hearted support.”
