Press release from: Village Foundation International

Village Foundation International, an Africa relief organization whose mission is to support the rural communities of Mali and Burkina Faso with classrooms, basic school supplies, basic health care and access to clean water, will be providing diabetes screening, counseling and resources in Mali on November 14, 2010 in honor of World Diabetes Day.

According to Adam Kane, President of Village Foundation International, World Diabetes Day presents an important opportunity for the people of Mali to receive life-saving information and resources.

“World Diabetes Day is designed to promote global awareness of diabetes in response to the alarming rise of the disease around the world,” Kane reports. “The people of Mali do not have everyday access to quality medical care. By observing World Diabetes Day in this country, we hope to educate the people, identify at-risk individuals and provide the necessary counseling and resources to improve their quality of living.”

Kane emphasizes that the people of Mali face unique challenges in dealing with the diabetes epidemic.

“We hope to help the Mali population to understand the challenge of diabetes in order to better cope with the condition,” he says.

About Village Foundation International
Village Foundation International is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides resources and volunteer charity work in Africa to provide the rural communities of Mali and Burkina Faso with classrooms, basic school supplies, and village clinics for basic health care and to give the children access to clean water, thus preventing avoidable diseases.

Village Foundation International was founded in 2007 by Adam Kane. Originating from Africa, Mr. Kane feels blessed to have the opportunity to come to the United States and fulfill a dream of education and entrepreneurship. Each trip he takes back to Africa brings home the fact that the opportunities and social infrastructure required for success are simply not in place.
Mr. Kane believes that in order to experience an improved quality of life, the people of Africa need more than money; they need tools, caring individuals and access to information.
