Rhys Davies Freight Logistics provides Water Treatment Products Ltd with next day delivery of its hazardous chemicals

Rhys Davies Freight Logistics, the national logistics provider, utilises its Cardiff depot to provide Water Treatment Products with country-wide distribution, allowing the company to ship its products on a next-day delivery basis to a wide range of industrial delivery points.

Water Treatment Products formulate and manufacture speciality water treatment chemicals for a wide range of companies and applications. Rhys Davies stores these chemicals in its warehouse in Cardiff, before loading and distributing the hazardous products across the country to a number of industrial delivery points on a next-day basis if required. Delivery can range from a single small box to a fully loaded trailer.

Having previously experienced bad service using another carrier, Tim Carter, Director of Water Treatment Products was keen to find a company that could offer a good reliable service to the company and its clients. “Rhys Davies do this,” said Tim. All Rhys Davies drivers are ADR (Accord Dangereuse Routiers, the European directive on the carriage of hazardous goods) trained which is essential for carriers transporting potentially dangerous or hazardous goods such as those produced by Water Treatment Products.

Rhys Davies Freight Logistics is also an accredited member of the Responsible Care Programme operated by the Chemical Business Association. The accreditation covers the warehousing and transport of chemical and hazardous products and shows that the company is aware of and complies with stringent working parameters in the chemical industry.

Gary Phillips, Commercial Manager for Rhys Davies said that the Responsible Care Programme has practical benefits for the company and customers like Water Treatment Products. “Responsible Care ensures that we have the correct procedures in place when handling chemicals including, for example, our arrangements for paperwork, handling spillages should they occur and the segregation of products.”

“Many carriers shy away from carrying chemicals because they don’t want to go through the time and expense of training their drivers and equipping the vehicles. We see it as an investment in our business and in our staff themselves,” Gary continued.
