Flipswap powers the launch of the world’s first fully integrated mass marketing campaign around a wireless trade-in program for 3 Mobile of Sweden.

TORRANCE- October 21st, 2010- In an industry first, Flipswap and 3 Mobile of Sweden have partnered to showcase the sustainability benefits of a wireless trade-in program. This marks the first time a wireless operator has made sustainability & trade-in the focus of a fully integrated mass media campaign and a key differentiator from its competitors.

3 Sweden a 60 % owned subsidiary of Hutchison-Whampoa Limited and part of the global 3 Group of mobile operators has launched the world’s first fully integrated mass marketing campaign around the Flipswap trade-in program. When a customer trades in their current mobile device, he or she can get a trade-in discount on any device purchased from 3.

Collecting the used device helps reduce the amount of eWaste accumulating in landfill sites, while at the same time prolongs the life of the used device, by re-introducing it for sale in other parts of the world.

Devices that are no longer functional are recycled in an environmentally compliant manner and a tree is planted for each device received. 3’s trade-in campaign is currently being communicated on TV, radio, the web, in print, & in-store.
