Banasthali offers UGC-MHRD approved Online Refresher Course in Management under SWAYAM, for College & University Teachers
It is a matter of great pride that Banasthali which is world’s largest fully residential women’s university and a name to reckon with for management education is the only non government institution which features among the elite list. The courses are offered for FREE to the teachers.
It is known that Education can be transformed only by educating the educator, and not merely by creating a new pattern, a new system of action. After launching the Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT) scheme, MHRD has pioneered SWAYAM a free online education platform which hosts courses for students at various levels as well as teachers for undergoing refresher courses.
The coordinating faculty member for the course Dr. Harsh Purohit the Dean - FMS and Faculty of Law at Banasthali. He has recently conceptualized framework of ‘Holistic Electoral Competency Rating’, ‘Bharatiya Model of Financial and Digital Literacy’ and ‘Work-Life Natural Fusion’ which have potential to bring another revolution.
The curriculum derives its strength from inputs by eminent academicians of global reputation like Prof. Karunesh Saxena (FMS-MSU, Udaipur), Prof. Anil Mehta (UoR, Jaipur), Prof. Umesh Holani (Jivaji University, Gwalior), Prof. Kavita Laghate (Director, JBIMS, Mumbai University) and Dr. Kapil Sharma (IMS-DAVV, Indore) who act as the External Experts on the Academic Council while the internal team comprises of Prof. Dipjyoti Chakraborty, Shri Abhishek Pareek, Dr. Ankur Joshi, Dr. Nisheeth Joshi, Dr. Ajay Surana, Dr. Nishtha Pareek, Ms. Parul Raman, Dr. Prashant Raman and Dr. Balgopal Singh. Dr. Shakila Shamsu, OSD, MHRD and Dr. N. H. Siddalingaswamy, Director (e-Governance) and SWAYAM, AICTE as resource persons have also added their inputs and guidance.
SWAYAM uses indigenously developed IT platform, facilitating hosting of all courses, taught in classrooms from Class 9 till post-graduation to be accessed by anyone, anywhere at any time. SWAYAM aims to provide interactive courses, prepared by best teachers in the country and are available free of cost to the residents in India. Over 1,000 specially chosen teachers from across the country have participated in preparing SWAYAM courses. To ensure best quality content, seven national coordinators have been appointed. They are NPTEL for engineering, UGC for post-graduation education, CEC for under-graduate education, NCERT & NIOS for school education, IGNOU for out of the school students and IIM Bangalore for management studies.
The MHRD sponsored online refresher programme in management aims to bring in multiple perspectives to management discipline in terms of teaching pedagogy, future work skills, research, and ‘self-management’. The programme would help the participants in understanding the new perspectives of management education in a holistic manner, improving quality of research and visualizing innovative approaches and emerging ideas in context to business management education. Experts from India and abroad have collaborated to formulate modules on developing integrative intelligence, innovation in pedagogy - shastrarth mode of learning, learning from gurukul approach, artificial intelligence, digital marketing, personal finance etc. The programme has also received support from AICTE.
The 40 hours duration online refresher course in management developed by Banasthali includes Business history, Social & Emotional Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence, Emerging Trends in HR, International Financial Reporting Standards, Corporate Governance, New ideas in Management, Multiple Discriminant Analysis, Pedagogical Innovations in Management, Examination Reforms, Qualitative Research Tools and Methods, factor Analysis, Entrepreneurship, ICT deployment for Teaching and Learning, Implementing CBCs in Management curriculum, New trends in Marketing, Emerging trends in Banking, Research and Publication strategy, New models of Leadership, Commodity Market, Straddle Option Strategy, Personal Finance, New areas of Policy Research, Stock Trends and pattern etc.
Over 775 from various parts of India have enrolled for the online refresher course in Management and the deadline is 15 January 2019. The course is self paced and it ends on 28 February followed by examination that is expected during middle of March 2019.
