IAPA membership confirms leading European position as ECO-friendly constructor

Today, Active Constructions (ACS), one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of forest climbing parks and high ropes activity courses became the latest member of the International Adventure Park Association (IAPA), one of the most prestigious professional bodies in the Outdoor Leisure and Recreation sector.

“Commercial outdoor activities are currently the fastest growing industry,” says Kees-Jan Verwaal, the managing director of the Netherland-based company. “To stay ahead of your game, professional exchange between park manufacturers, park operators and industry regulators is paramount. Only this way, the industry as a whole can maintain the highest quality standards and guarantee the ultimate levels of operational safety. We are looking forward to fruitful discussions with the other exhibitors at the IAPA Climbing Park Convention in Germany later this year. ”

“The quality and safety of our products has always been top of our priority list,” continues Verwaal. “For example, all our climbing park and rope course layouts fully comply with the quality and safety guidelines issued by the ERCA (European Rope Course Association) which, in turn, are based on the strict building as well as Health and Safety regulations by the EU industry regulators.”

IAPA core activities not only include testing and certification, the development of equipment and technical guidelines as well as staff and management training but also focus strongly on nature preservation and the general sustainable management of natural resources in conjunction with commercial leisure activities.

“Unlike some of our competitors we don’t just talk the talk. We walk the walk,” Verwaal points out. “For us, green design and running a profitable leisure business are not mutually exclusive. On the contrary, recent customer surveys conducted all over Europe show, that making the natural environment an integral part of your design concepts is one of the major success factors when it comes to visitor numbers, visitor satisfaction and visitor retention.”
