For Immediate Release: Home Inspection Company wins “Secret

SW Florida Oct 9, 2010 – Sherlock Home Inspections, a Southwest Florida company has long been recognized as an industry leader. Now the company’s management team is helping the leaders of other local industries.

During a recent Meeting of Minds, an invitation only event held by top local business professionals, Sherlock Home Inspections was announced as the winner of the organizations “Secret to Success” contest.

The objective was to share with the group no more than ten ways your company ensures success. One hundred plus participants had fifteen minutes to enter their submissions, completed or not.

Some teams started with their company’s mission or vision statements. Some ended there as well, while others struggled to finish with more than scribbled ideas.

“It was easy for us,” says company founder Todd Riley. “We simply shared our core principles.” In the end, the judges declared Sherlock Home Inspections the winner by unanimous decision.

The key to their success can be the key to yours as well. Any business can apply these core principles, and reap the rewards recognized by the folks at Sherlock Home Inspections. Here they are:
Sherlock Home Inspections’ 9 Core Principles
1. Our clients' interests always come first.
Our experience shows that if we serve our clients well, our own success will follow.
2. Integrity and honesty are at the heart of our business.
We expect our people to maintain high ethical standards in everything they do, both at work and in their personal lives.
3. Our best assets are our people and our reputation.
We recognize that in a service business, we cannot be the best without the best people. Our continued success depends upon obtaining, retaining, and the continued training of the industry’s best. It is equally important that we exceed the expectations of our customers and those who refer them to us (without the first, we cannot have the second).
4. The dedication of our people is priceless.
Dedication to the company and the intense effort of our people are greater than in most other organizations. We think that this is an important part of our success.
5. We stress creativity and imagination in everything we do.
We pride ourselves on exceeding several industry standards in areas that we cover in inspections, procedures that we conduct during inspections, and the initial requirements and continuing education of our inspectors, etc. While recognizing that our standard operating procedures are often the best ways, we constantly strive to find even better ways.
6. We also stress teamwork in everything we do.
While individual creativity is always encouraged, we have found that team effort often produces the best results. We have no room for those who put their personal interests ahead of the interests of the company or our clients.
7. We consider our size an asset that we try hard to preserve.
We want to be big enough to meet all clients’ requests, yet small enough to maintain personal relationships, top quality customer service, and the loyalty, intimacy and the esprit de corps that we all treasure and that contribute greatly to our success.
8. We take great pride in the professional quality of our work.
We have an uncompromising determination to achieve excellence in everything we undertake. We believe in quality over quantity, meaning we would rather be the best than the biggest. We guarantee an inspector on site within 24 hours, and inspection reports delivered within 24 hours. However, we always allow enough time to conduct a thorough inspection, and properly prepare a quality inspection report.
9. We aggressively seek to expand.
Our business is highly competitive, and we strive to continuously establish new relationships within our community. However, we must always be fair competitors and never denigrate our competition.
