The Bendorf-based manufacturer of aluminium profile systems will be presenting the technical advances they have made in systems for windows, doors, façades and conservatories at the BAU 2011 international trade fair. Other highlights will also feature ready-to-install fire doors and wall units.

Markus Kütscher, Akotherm’s CTO, says: “At the BAU 2011 we’re also going to present our new fire and smoke barriers AT 630 BS and AT 690 BS. We supply these complete units ready to install and they provide additional safety and peace of mind for our partners, including in terms of the costs. For metal construction firms, prefabricated units ready to install as set out in the tender or the specifications are an easily calculable alternative to making such units themselves – especially if their own production capacities are already at the limit.” The fire and smoke barriers comply with the T30 and T90 protection requirements, and the wall units the resistance classes F30 and F90.

Kütscher adds that another major innovation will be a new notched façade system. The reason: the ever higher standards required for heat insulation have seen triplex glass increasingly being used. Depending on the size and the thickness of the glass, this can mean pane weights of up to 500 kilograms on one transom, and in such cases Akotherm then opts again for the strong and stable jamb-crossbar solution through notching as an alternative.
“We still prefer our notch-free façade system AT 500 F, however, because it offers clear advantages in processing and ensures safety and stability for many applications. Nevertheless, with the new notched façade we want to launch a system option on the market for special requirements. After all, our partners should be able to offer system solutions for any situation which may arise”, says Kütscher. “The elegant fifty sightline the customer prefers is of course retained in the new notched façade as well.”

One aspect taking centre stage with the window systems is disabled access: a window system without sills which can also be used as a doorway for disabled-friendly access. “There’s not only a growing demand for disabled accessibility in institutional building projects; we are increasingly seeing private individuals wanting this type of construction method too. People converting their homes for the ‘second phase of their life’ are already including disabled accessibility and ground-floor living in their plans. We see this as an important trend and a burgeoning market for our partners which will continue to expand in the future.”

Another new development for 2011 which Akotherm will be presenting is a system for window variants opening outwards.

“A new highly heat-insulated front door line AT 740 SI-D will also add new vistas to the AKOTHERM system range. This will provide the market with new design alternatives for front doors”, promises Kütscher. All of these exciting developments arouse curiosity and will certainly make it worthwhile visiting the Akotherm stand at the customary place in Hall C1, Stand 518 at the Bau trade fair in Munich from 17 to 22 January 2011.

At the factory in Bendorf, Akotherm GmbH staff members develop and market high-quality aluminium profile systems for application with windows, doors, façades and conservatories, as well as the corresponding accessories. Creativity in handling aluminium is found in the compatibility and constant further development of Akotherm systems, as well as in the development of detailed solutions and many other extras. The products and processes correspond with the latest DIN standards and EU guidelines. The provision of comprehensive guarantees and also the proven service concept complete the quality of Akotherm products. Akotherm partners profit from a high level of technical competency and consulting expertise shown by Akotherm GmbH. Edited with the aid of http://die.pressefritzen.de
