Fall May Be the Time to Buy Home If the Price Is Right. Says Real Estate Experts
Columbus, Ohio (October 01, 2010):Revealty.com, a leading and reliable Central Ohio real estate company, has predicted that fall may be an ideal time to invest in a long term home if the price is right. The company has been in business since the early 90s and has been listed on the Business First’s top 25 residential real estate agencies in Columbus multiple times. The real estate experts of this Ohio based company have pointed out that house prices in the state have been steadier and buyers have purchased more homes during the second quarter of the year. The foreclosed or financially troubled properties account for only a smaller percentage of these sales. In the metropolitan areas of Ohio including Cleveland, Akron and Canton the median prices of previously owned single-family houses increased considerably in comparison to the previous year. In fact, the median sale price in the Akron area jumped around 36 percent, making it a leader on the nationwide list. In Cleveland area the median price was up by 11.5 percent from the previous year and in Canton area it was up 9.9 percent. However, the buyers must not get discouraged by the increasing median sale prices. This price does not reflect the appreciation or depreciation of every home and is influenced by the prices of all the homes that were sold during this period. Therefore even if the median prices are up, the costs of individual home values have not necessarily increased. Last year most of the distressed homes were sold at a discount, resulting in a lower median price. This year more traditional home sales perked up which caused higher median prices.
Though the popular tax-credit offer has expired, the demand in Ohio real estate market will continue to grow. Job opportunities in Ohio are expanding and the state is on its way to a broader economic recovery. Moreover, the officials at the Federal Reserve have announced their plans to buy government debt, which will not only help to spur growth, but will also keep the interest rates low.
