Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, IGHL Present “A Celebration in Lights” During the Month of December

(Center Moriches, NY) — Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is joining Independent Group Home Living (IGHL) for a special holiday event at the camp. In each weekend during the month of December, the camp will be the place for a “A Celebration in Lights.” The event will take place on the following dates: December 3-5; December 10-12; December 17-19 and December 22-23.

The event will include a spectacular light show that can be experienced by driving through the grounds of Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck. A Celebration in Lights will be open at 4 p.m. and close at 9 p.m. Tickets are $15.00 per car, with proceeds to be equally distributed between Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck and IGHL, and their work with developmentally disabled children and adults in the community. Tickets may be purchased in advance at IGHL.

“I would like to thank the wonderful people at IGHL for making this possible,” said Bridget Costello, Director, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck. “A Celebration in Lights is a great way for families to take in the beauty of these holiday displays and support two organizations helping to make the holidays a little more special.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available throughout the path. Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck and IGHL are also seeking donations of any unwanted LED holiday lighting for the event. About Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck
Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck was created by members of the Moriches Rotary Club in 1946. Located on the shores of Kaler's Pond on eastern Long Island, Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck is funded entirely by donations and is a special place where children with physical and developmental disabilities can experience first hand the pleasures that an active life has to offer. Children participate in a wide range of activities especially designed for youngsters who are in wheelchairs as well as those who are ambulatory. These activities include swimming, boating, arts and crafts, petting zoo, talent shows, cook-outs, games and a Carnival Day. The program also provides educational activities in areas such as nature, arts, fire safety and communication skills.

Volunteers Needed for “A Celebration in Lights”
