Quacquarelli Symonds has released a study on the motivation behind Indian’s student’s decision to study abroad. The report which relies on a combination of interviews, surveys and focus groups which include participants from various small towns as well as large cities throughout India, highlights the role played by employability when it comes to decision to study abroad. The report also sheds light on the intense competitiveness in the current Indian economy which is driving students from India to seek to study in USA, Canada and other top ranked countries when it comes to higher education.
Moreover, QS report points out that there is a widespread opinion among the Indian youth that there is a lack of equal and adequate opportunities in the Indian corporate sector. This is the reason why many Indians are planning to pursue their higher education in countries which lay greater emphasis on quality of education and practical application of knowledge.
