Halloween – No longer just an American trend
Predominantly in earlier years an event solely focussed around religious practice, in modern culture Halloween has became a hugely popularised celebration in America, 'the National Retail Federation in the United States, found that 53.3 percent of consumers planned to buy a costume for Halloween 2005, spending $38.11 on average. This relatively new trend across the UK now boasts city parades in it honour, in attempt to dislodge the US as one of its key consumers. The celebration of Halloween whilst strongly associated with North America, is clearly having a major emergence in the UK, costume parties in particular for adults and children are now one of the most popular event for fancy dress style parties.
