New App detects dementia risks early
The DST is certified as a Medical Device
• Early stages are reliably detected, before the brain damage becomes irreversible.

Dementia is a rapidly increasing social problem of a rapidly aging society. Because until today there is no effective therapy for advanced stages of dementia.
Therefore, effective screening tests are needed to detect early stages reliably, and to start treatment before the brain damages become irreversible.
A group of physicians has therefore developed a simple test - the DST - Dementia Screening Test. The reliability of the test results has been confirmed in clinical studies, and the test has therefore been recognized as a medical device by the competent authorities throughout the EU, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, New Zealand, Canada and Australia.
Since 10 Dec 2018, the DST is now available as an App for any standard smartphone or tablet. So it can be performed easily and quickly at home. The app identifies the individual dementia risk, provides recommendations for reducing the risk, and documents changes over time.
The developers put great emphasize on reliable results, ease of use, and complete data security. No registration is required, no personal information is collected, and the test results are stored only on the tablet or smartphone used, but not on a central server. Of course, an overview of the results can be exported and thus presented to a physician to discuss further diagnostic and / or therapeutic measures before the brain damage becomes irreversible
