LINCS Healthcare Offers Career Opportunities for Home Care Nurses
Aims to Meet Demand in Home Medical Care for Brisbane’s ElderlyBRISBANE, Qld / April 7, 2010 – LINCS Healthcare, Brisbane’s top provider of ambulatory care and community nursing services, is looking to fill up key home nursing personnel including dynamic and motivated registered nurses (RNs), endorsed enrolled nurses (EENs) and assistants in nursing (AINs) for casual, part-time and full-time positions. Its service area covers Brisbane’s northern and southern suburbs, Caboolture and the Sunshine Coast.
There is a growing need for home medical care and home-nursing services to the elderly population. The Australia Bureau of Statistics seems to back up this trend as their report suggests that like many developed countries, Australia is now facing an ageing population brought about by “sustained low fertility and increasing life expectancy.” According to a 2007 report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, there 263,331 registered and enrolled nurses in the country as compared to the 2008 Australian Bureau of Statistics report that there are 526,400 people aged 65 years or older in Queensland alone. There is really a need to fill these key important positions.
LINCS is looking for RNs and EENs with at least 12 months nursing experience in a hospital setting. Experience in the community nursing services is a big advantage. AINs and other personal care workers need to have at least 2 years experience working in the medical care sector. LINCS also provides mentorship to those who want to work in the home medical care sector but do not have any relevant experience in the community setting. Aside from career opportunities for nurses, LINCS is also open to other professionals like clinical nurse consultants, health sociologists, administration officers, and counsellors.
