HaCon presents TPS Realtime for the first time at the InnoTrans 2010

Hannover/Berlin (2010-08-17). From September 21 to 24 Berlin is the meeting place for IT-solutions in public transport: with its contribution to the InnoTrans 2010 the software company HaCon continues its successful participation at the fair since 2006. At the joint stand (hall 4.1a, stand 126) with PTV AG from Karlsruhe, HaCon will present its innovations around the Train Planning System TPS and timetable information system HAFAS.

The software TPS Realtime, as part of the product family of TPS for construction and infrastructure management, will be presented at the fair for the first time. TPS has already successfully established itself in the market. An increasing number of rail infrastructure managers (RIMs) and railway transportation companies (RTCs) use TPS for their planning activities and capacity management. In Great Britain and Denmark the complete rail-timetables are generated with TPS. The system combines infrastructure, timetable and line management as well as all interactions.

In addition to the long-term planning with TPS, with TPS Realtime dispatching software for very short-term planning was created. The planning horizon of the new product typically includes 48 hours before departure to the ongoing operation. RTCs are increasingly integrating real-time data in their planning processes. TPS Realtime plays on this: because in TPS the infrastructure of the railway network is exactly reproduced, delays can be calculated very accurately. Based on the real-time information, exact prognoses for diverse future scenarios can easily be created. Possible conflicts due to deviations from the timetable can be predicted precisely and in time.

In addition to TPS, at the HaCon stand, visitors also have the opportunity to find out more about the timetable information HAFAS. The market's leading timetable information system can be used as a journey planner from door-to-door. It is deployed in more than 20 countries world-wide. HAFAS range of use is versatile: It comprises pure timetable information for Internet and print media as well as sophisticated mobile navigation for public transport. For example the new HAFAS version for the iPhone will be displayed. HAFAS Mobile for the Apple-Smartphone has been downloaded in the App Store more than a million times. Visitors at the stand will also experience live, how HAFAS works for Android™-Smartphones und for the iPad.

InnoTrans has established itself as an international business platform of the passenger and freight transport. Over 220 companies in the transportation industry meet at the show and stand in front of a large audience. Focus of the exhibition is the rail industry.
