Polaris Networks demonstrates interoperability of its MCX Tester at the 3rd MCX Plugtests hosted by ETSI

Polaris Networks, a leading provider of wireless test and measurement tools, is participating in the ETSI 3rd MCX Plugtests™, starting today. Polaris will be offering its MCX Tester for testing the functions and features of the Mission Critical Communications Server from various vendors participating at this event. In addition to this, Polaris is also offering its NetEPC for vendors willing to test a mission critical network with a mission-critical-network-ready EPC. The goal of this plugtest is to validate the interoperability of a variety of mission critical implementations using different scenarios based on 3GPP Mission Critical Services in Release 14 and 15. During the event, tests will be conducted via VPN connections from the vendor labs, following the approach used during the pre-test stages of the first and second MCPTT Plugtests.
The Polaris MCX Tester simulates mission-critical clients and traffic to generate signaling and user procedures for testing a Mission Critical Communications Sever. This Test solution has a comprehensive list of canned test cases as per earlier ETSI MCX Plugtest Scenarios along with Polaris-defined negative and security test cases. The Tester also provides a test builder which allows the user to stitch together new test cases with pre-defined test procedures. The MCX Tester from Polaris Networks is capable of testing both conformance and performance of the MCX Server. For participants who wish to run tests over LTE bearers, Polaris’ will make available its production core, the NetEPC, for facilitating such tests. The NetEPC is a comprehensive LTE Packet Core implementation which supports the public safety QCI and other enhancements as per 3GPP Release 14 and 15 public safety standards.
The 3rd MCX Plugtests, organized by The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) with the support of TCCA and the European Commission, will be a remote-only Plugtests event held from 3rd December 2018 to 31st January 2019.
