Gardere Announces Steve Good’s Re-Election as Managing Partner

DALLAS – Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is pleased to announce that Steve Good has been re-elected to continue his role as Managing Partner through February 2017.

In a partnership meeting on August 5, Gardere’s partners voted to extend Mr. Good’s term. Gardere’s Management Committee unanimously recommended that its partners should vote to waive a provision in the Firm’s partnership agreement limiting Mr. Good to two five-year terms as Managing Partner, which otherwise would have caused his term to end in February 2012.

“The extension was viewed as an overall vote of confidence in the job that Steve has done and will continue to do as the Managing Partner of our firm,” says Eric Blumrosen, partner and member of Gardere’s Management Committee.

Gardere has seen its profits more than double in the past 10 years under Mr. Good’s leadership. Also during this time, the Firm’s Austin office was added to offer legislative and regulatory services to its clients. Mr. Good’s advocacy for the continued expansion of Gardere’s client base is also marked by his various leadership roles in the European, Latin American, Lone Star and Southern Law Networks of which the Firm is a member. Through strategic internal growth, joint ventures, and alliances with other leading law firms, Mr. Good has helped bring Gardere to its present-day position as one of the nation’s leading law firms.

In addition to his many management duties, Mr. Good has developed a tax law practice over the last 30 years that focuses on corporate and partnership tax issues, both federal and state. He currently serves as a Director of the Regional Dallas Chamber, as an Advisory Governor of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and as a member of the Dallas Citizens Council. In continuing Gardere’s strong tradition of community service, Mr. Good is actively involved in promoting the growth of the Annual Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition, a program designed to recognize and encourage the writing and speaking skills of elementary school students.
