Khalti Digital Wallet Users In Nepal Can Now Directly Book Film Tickets On The App

Khalti Digital Wallet has partnered with four premium multiplex theaters of Nepal to launch movie ticketing system on its app and website. The company on Sunday, 2 December 2018, announced its partnership with the four most popular movie theaters of Nepal: FCUBE Cinemas, Q’s Cinemas, BSR Movies, and Mid-Town Galleria.

This partnership will allow Khalti users to book movie tickets directly through Khalti app and website. The partnership will offer an even easier experience for movie-goers in Nepal to book and pay for tickets in a simple and secure way via mobile phones.

Announcing the initiation, Khalti’s Director Amit Agrawal said,

“With this tie-up, our customers, especially movie & theatergoers, will have the unique advantage of booking movie tickets through Khalti platform itself and completing the payment. It adds a lot of value to Khalti users, who will now have, ‘Anytime, Anywhere’ availability of movie tickets."

“We are continuously evolving and innovating towards building a hassle-free digital payment ecosystem. This partnership with the four theaters is another step in that direction. We are adding many more features and services on Khalti very soon.”

This partnership for digital booking and payment of movie tickets holds a significance at a time the government has just started receiving revenue and all forms of taxes online in Nepal. It is expected to push the adoption of digital payment in Nepal.

Along with movie ticketing at these four multiplexes, Khalti users can also book movie tickets through websites of QFX Cinemas, Big Movies and City Cinema, and pay online via Khalti.

Launched in January 2017, Khalti is an emerging mobile payment solution in Nepal. In addition to online movie ticketing, Khalti allows users to top-up their mobile balance, pay DTH, internet bills, various utility bills, book flight tickets, book hotel rooms and pay in various online shopping sites in Nepal.
