JMA Pilani Joins hands with Oxford University Press India for Teacher Quality Enhancement Workshop

Every Ram Rahim Raphael in India today talks about Right to Education RTE but forgets that the right to education means the right to quality education which, in turn, implies the right to quality teachers. Quality teacher does not mean qualified teacher but also those who have the characteristics: knowledge, skills, right attitude and passion.

According to Indian Philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti regarded globally as one of greatest thinkers & teachers, "Education can be transformed only by educating the educator, and not merely creating a new pattern, a new system of action." The only way to transform teachers with qualifications to quality teachers is by conducting regular Teacher Development Programs - TDPs.

JMA which is one among the top ranking schools in Pilani has long standing relationship with OUP India and on 24 Nov 2018, OUP deputed well known teacher trainer, counselor and motivator Mr Rajan Arora to conduct a workshop for the teachers of JMA Pilani. After the customary lamp lighting ceremony, Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan reiterated the need for continuous teacher training and introduced Rajan Arora to the team of teachers of JMA Pilani. Principal specially thanked Oxford who was the prime sponsor for the school annual day function held on 17 Nov 2018.

Rajan Arora holds a MPhil and MBA with two decades experience and has conducted over 200 workshops for students, and around 150 sessions for teachers, in schools across Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. He has also authored book on Human Engineering. The focus of training at JMA Pilani was on Managing time for enhanced performance and personal and professional excellence.

The thought provoking four and a half hour session conducted by Rajan Arora was followed by a lively question answer session. The activity based workshop was highly interactive and informative. High tea followed the vote of thanks by Ms Kavita Tiwari.

When the workshop ended, the teachers of JMA who participated left with beaming faces and pride that they were indeed part of an institution which is a shining jewel in the crown among the schools at Pilani.
