The International Kids' English Club e. V. celebrates its 35th anniversary

The non-profit organization The International Kids' English Club e.V., previously known as Internationale Kindergruppe e.V. celebrates its 35th anniversary.

The anniversary celebration will take place during the annual summer barbecue at the Oberförsterwiese in Darmstadt on September 5, 2010 starting at 3 pm. English-speaking families can bring their own food and drink and have the opportunity to get to know the organisation better. Desserts will be shared and various children's games will be offered.

Since 1975 the Darmstadt based club has offered English-speaking children the facility to maintain their English mother-tongue from birth onwards and offers various groups where children can keep up their language skills, by doing arts and crafts, singing, reading and doing reading and writing exercises. Furthermore, the organisation holds family events, such as a trip to the Vivarium, a summer picnic, a barbecue and a read-a-thon. The groups and events also offer a nice atmosphere for families who have newly arrived from English-speaking countries. The club is unique in the Darmstadt area and currently has approximately 60 member families originating from countries such as the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, England and India. New members are welcome to the club, which recently relocated to premises in Hügelstraße 75 and Frankensteinschule in Darmstadt.
