Munich/London, 7th of July 2010. GOVECS, creator of high-performance electric scooters, is sponsoring the TTXGP eGrandPrix series – the world’s first zero carbon, clean emission ‘electric Grand Prix’. As well as sponsoring the event, the company will be providing its GO! S1.2 electric scooters for organisers to use as transport at the events – contributing to the clean emission targets, not just of the races themselves but of the entire event series.

The TTXGP eGrandPrix is an international series which not only provides exciting, hotly contested race action but also a high profile platform for the development of electric motorcycles, which enables the cutting edge technology behind them to be tested to its limits. TTXGP and GOVECS aim to be key drivers behind low-carbon technical innovation by demonstrating that sustainable transportation technologies have matured and can be fun, fast and exciting.

The 2010 season will see 3 regional championships culminating in the fastest teams from each championship racing each other in the TTXGP FINAL/UEM to win the title of “the worlds fastest clean emission zero carbon team.” GOVECS is the partner for the European races in the UK, Italy and including the final in Spain. The European part will start with the first UK race at the weekend of 10th/11th July in Snetterton north-east of London. The Italian electric Grand Prix series will start at the 28th/29th of August on the well known race track of Mugello. The final will take place in Albacete/Spain at the 23rd/24th of October 2010 (for full location information see www.egrandprix.com/index_nav.php?cat=races).

“We’re delighted to be supporting the TTXGP eGrandPrix,” comments Thomas Gruebel, CEO GOVECS GmbH. “It features all the high-octane, adrenaline fuelled race-action that you’d expect from motorsport but with a unique eco-conscience, which we think sums up modern motor culture. The need for environmentally-aware transport is obvious nowadays. It’s not a matter of choice but of responsibility that we have to look after our environment, but at GOVECS we don’t think that has to be at the expense of style and fun. What better way to demonstrate that than with a zero carbon eGrandPrix.”

“GOVECS is a natural partner for our event,” adds Azhar Hussain, founder and CEO of the TTXGP eGrandPrix. “Their GO! S series of electric performance scooters are the embodiment of our ethos, which is to have fun and provide entertainment - while consistently testing the limits of technology to significantly improve the motor industry’s green credentials.”

TTXGP was founded by Azhar Hussain, an entrepreneur with a history in the electronics industry. It launched in 2008, announcing the world's first zero carbon, clean emission motorcycle race on the Isle of Man TT for June 2009.

GOVECS is completely dedicated to the development, production and marketing of electric vehicles. Its team brings a wide spectrum of professional backgrounds and competences gained worldwide into GOVECS which allows us to leverage on cooperation with international partners and clients.
