Santa Clara, Calif., Nov 15, 2018 - YouSpace is accepting pre-orders for its Total Experience Kit (TEK), making real-time human-motion capture and recognition a reality for the retail world today.

Retailers ranging from brick-and-mortar stores to shopping malls, pop-up exhibitions and the advertising industry as a whole can now convert existing digital signage into smart displays that are able to sense human bodies and their movements and respond instantly.

YouSpace's proprietary COAT™ (Computer Optical AI Telemetry) algorithms interpret body shapes and gestures detected by Intel® RealSenseTM depth sensors to map the surface of a person to 3D space. The human data thus generated enables shoppers to use simple touch-free gestures to reveal and navigate through digital content on a display without the need for wearables or handheld devices, making the human body one more input to control the content displayed.

Meanwhile, the YouSpace Hub captures real-time analytics that provides retailers with hugely relevant insights such as the number and categories of shoppers passing by and the extent of their interaction with displayed content. The Hub also acts like a Content Management System that retailers can remotely manage across devices and locations; digital content can be displayed not merely based on time and day, but also by the presence of people; status updates are received in real time.

The YouSpace TEK sells as a total solution package that retailers, shop owners or digital signage providers can simply install to any existing digital display. In addition to the proprietary COAT™ AI engine, the TEK comes with the Intel® RealSense™ Depth Module D430, Intel® NUC mini PC and a 1-year subscription to the cloud-based YouSpace Hub. The TEK retails for USD 2,999 and is now available for pre-order on the company’s website. Shipments are expected to begin in December.

The key advantages of the technology lie in its lightweight, accuracy, and speed, offering in-store shoppers an immersive customer experience that requires no wearables, provides accurate body measurements and processes data at real-time speeds of a mere 11 milliseconds, or 90 frames per second.

By allowing brick-and-mortar stores an affordable way to benefit from the ongoing revolution in smart retail, YouSpace’s B2B4C solution is now spearheading a transformation in traditional business models.

It also reflects a growing shift away from a focus on product alone to more rewarding in-store experiences for shoppers. POPAI’s 2014 Mass Merchant Shopper Engagement Study revealed that the vast majority (82%) of shoppers’ buying decisions were being made in-store, with 16% of impulse purchases made in response to store displays.
