mitcaps satifies with Value Added Service

Availability, flexibility, efficiency and the highest level of safety. These objectives, Johannes Seniorendienste have made in modernizing its data center, together with the German Virtual Network Operator mitcaps GmbH.

The customer Johannes Seniorendienste e.V., a service provider for old and handicapped people in need of care, asked the German Virtual Network Operator (VNO) mitcaps GmbH to design, purchase and set-up its new data center. The objective of the upgrade is to create a consolidated and centralized infrastructure, using the virtualization approach. JSD follows with the project a long-term strategic approach - the technical consolidation. Together with mitcaps, JSD migrated the existing server based computer solution to the newly designed data center based on blade systems within 6 months. Additional thin clients support the energy- and storage-affective solution, as thin-clients using 12 times less power than a standard PC.

To operate more energy-efficiently JSD selected a closed cooling system. The design enables a constant separation of cold air zones and warm air zones. Cold air is blown only into the cold aisle which results in energy savings. An uninterruptible power supply ensures the highest level of safety and availability. A central access control and early fire detection further increase the physical safety.
