Onlineprinters GmbH is among the prize winners of 'Bavaria's Best 50' businesses.

Neustadt an der Aisch – "We are very proud of the fact that our e-commerce business ranks among the prize winners of 'Bavaria's Best 50' and delighted by the recognition we received as exemplary medium-sized company", explains Walter Meyer, CEO of Onlineprinters GmbH. As a one-man business with only one employee, Walter Meyer got started in the e-business in April 2004 with an online print shop and successfully positioned the brand www.diedruckerei.de on the young market. 100 percent increase in sales per year made for rapid growth. In 2008, the success story entered the next round. The one-man business was turned into Onlineprinters GmbH. At the same time, the English language print portal www.onlineprinters.com was launched in order to meet the demand for printed products Europe-wide. The staff in Neustadt an der Aisch was now busy producing printed matter for 29 countries throughout Europe. Investment of millions of euros simultaneously provided the capacities for new printing machines. In 2009 already, Onlineprinters GmbH provided safe employment to 250 people.

Qualified staff is the most valuable asset
Walter Meyer's team comprises a number of experienced specialists from the classical printing business. Because, unlike most online printing service providers, Onlineprinters GmbH is not a dealer, but manufacturer and processor of printed products. "Our qualified staff is the company's most valuable asset", Walter Mayer emphasizes an essential pillar for the business success of Onlineprinters GmbH. Against the odds of economic crisis in the printing industry, the number of employees is continuing to grow strongly in 2010. "With the award 'Bavaria's Best 50', we honour the entrepreneurs of medium-sized businesses that have exhibited particularly strong growth over the past five years and have been able to increase their number of employees at an above-average rate", the Bavarian Minister of Economy, Martin Zeil, praised Onlineprinters GmbH during the festive award ceremony in Munich on June 22, 2010.

In dialogue with online customers
"Open customer relations are the motor to our success", Walter Meyer is convinced. Regular certifications for quality and security in online purchasing and a public buyer rating portal create a basis of trust for the online customer. So far, more than 12,000 customers have attested diedruckerei.de an "Excellent" for their services. A profile on Facebook and Twitter as well as a blog and a Xing group starting in June are deepening the dialogue of www.diedruckerei.de with its customers. "This brings us very close to the wishes of our customers", Meyer looks ahead confidently.

Company objectives in 2010
Walter Meyer sees himself confirmed in his founding idea of 2004: "Fast, good quality and inexpensive – these are the strong points of the online print shop with in-house production", says the dynamic entrepreneur. Onlineprinters GmbH produces about 90 percent of all standard printed materials mainly for business customers. On the domestic market, the online print shop has acquired a strong position. The growth market now is in Europe. 30 percent of the sales are already generated in this segment. A medium-term goal is the setup of further foreign-language online shops for France, Italy and the Netherlands. Investments of 8.5 million euros are being made to expand the printing capacities and inline finishing by the end of this year. With a new administration building and additional production areas, the company site in Middle-Franconian Neustadt an der Aisch will further expand.
