With students coming from different parts of India, the 850 acre Campus Banasthali today with 16000 students itself is a mini India. Members of every major religion undertake pilgrimages and for the alumni of 1935 established Banasthali which is one among the top ranking universities in India today as well as globally visiting their alma mater years after their graduation, is undoubtedly a pilgrimage.

Dhamaal “the festival of feelings” was the name chosen by Banasthalites who are proud alumnus of Banasthali to give it a touch of fun filled get together with old buddies. Thanks to the initiative and untiring efforts of Vibha Upadhyaya, Benu Agarwal Gupta, Madhavendra Saxena, Vivek Garg & Apoorv Dubey, the first Dhamaal happened during 30 Sep - 01 Oct 2011 with five dozen passion packed Banasthali alumni at Swapnalok resort Jaipur with a brief visit to Banasthali campus. However, subsequent Dhamaals had a full day visit to Banasthali and Vibha Upadhyaya and Apoorv Dubey have been playing a stellar role in organizing the reunion year after year.

Dhamaal 2 with 92 Banasthalites was hosted during 30 Sep – 02 Oct. 2012 at Aapno Rajasthan Resort, Sikar Road, Jaipur. Dhamaal 3 with 122 Banasthalites was hosted during 05 Oct – o7 Oct 2013 at the Gold Palace Resort, Delhi Road, Jaipur. Dhamaal 4 with 114 Banasthalites was hosted during 04 Oct - 06 Oct 2014 at the Gold Palace Resort, Delhi Road, Jaipur which included day 2 stay at Banasthali campus. Dhamaal 5 with 151 Banasthalites was hosted during 03 Oct - 05 Oct 2015 at Chomu Palace, Chomu which included day 2 stay at Banasthali campus. Dhamaal 6 with 199 Banasthalites was hosted during 15 Oct - 16 Oct 2016 at Pride Amber Vilas, Tonk Road, Jaipur. Dhamaal 7 with 258 Banasthalites was hosted during 04 Oct - 06 Oct 2017 at the Gold Palace Resort, Delhi Road, Jaipur and Clarion Inn, Kukas, Jaipur. The number of mini Dhamaals which keep happening in different cities in India and abroad is soon poised to make a bid for Guinness World Record.

Shilpa Bhardwaj, Dinesh Shaliwal joined hands with veterans Vibha Upadhyaya and Apoorv Dubey for planning and organizing Dhamaal 8 with 305 Banasthalites which was scheduled during 30 Sep - 02 Oct. 2018 at Rajasthali Resort & Spa, Delhi Road, Jaipur.
The alumni gathering indeed looked like a stellar constellation of Professionals from all walks of life. By putting their best foot forward to march out boldly and seize the opportunities to face the challenges head on, each one of them undoubtedly was a dreamer, performer, achiever and a leader in applying the world class education they had at Banasthali to improve lives across society.

After the warm up sessions at Jaipur resort on 30 Sep 2018, the caravan left for Banasthali campus on 01 Oct 2018 morning from Jaipur. When they reached Banasthali campus, they had a grand welcome by Prof Ina Shastri Pro Vice Chancellor and Prof Siddharth Shastri Vice President. With passions peaking, emotions erupted on seeing the various buildings both old and new in the campus, hostels mess, eating joints, faculty members and wardens.

Irrespective of whatever degree they did at Banasthali, wherever they came from and whatever their life journey had taken them to, there was one thing they all shared in common and that was passion for the alma mater. Each one of them agreed that their stay at Banasthali had left an indelible mark on their lives. This batch like the other batches have indeed enhanced the reputation and raised the profile of Banasthali both nationally and internationally through their successes, contributions and support. Lunch in the guest house was nostalgic with Dahi Aloo mirchi and padam ji's barfi. In Sur Mandir, Banasthali students presented cultural programs with enthusiastic participation by alumni reiterating the evergreen lines “Mile sur mera tumhaara, to sur bane hamaara”.

Prof. Aditya Shastri who himself is an alumnus of great institutions such as BITS Pilani, State University of New York SUNY Stony Brook and MIT USA reputed for their strong alumni alma mater connect, addressed the alumni in his inimitable style focused upon the remarkable achievements of Banasthali vidyapith and gave a clarion call for lifelong bonding with Banasthali. Emotion choked Sugandha Kakkar said that thanks to Dhamaal, she could meet her batchmates after 33 years. Late evening the caravan reached back Jaipur where the celebrations continued till breakfast of 02 Oct 2018.

For Banasthalites who are the proud ambassadors and torch bearers of brand Banasthali, indeed Banasthali is a place to be remembered forever for providing world class education and nurturing to be enlightened citizens with strong base.
