WAPR-150GN 802.11b/g/n Access Point

WAPR-150GN 802.11b/g/n Access Point

SparkLAN Communications, Inc., a broadband wireless networking solution provider, unveils a SpeedPlus Access Point based on Ralink’s Router-on-a-Chip RT3050, targeted at WISP, SI, and SOHO market users for simple wireless sharing.

SparkLAN WAPR-150GN is a small-sized, 802.11n portable AP that achieves up to 150Mbps data rate. It is 3 times faster than the legacy 11g model but is priced less, making it more cost-effective. The WAPR-150GN supports AP, AP Client, Router, Bridge, and WDS modes. It is ideal for business travelers to share wireless connection in the conference or at exhibition and great for hotel guests in the hotel.

By supporting 64/128-bits WEP, WPA, WPA2, WAPR-150GN helps protect data and privacy during transmission. Moreover, the AP incorporated with WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup), which is designed to help make connection between wireless devices more secure and easier. Simply push the WPS button on the AP and on another WPS-enabled wireless device to create an encrypted wireless connection.

The WAPR-150GN SpeedPlus AP is suitable for WISP or SI to deploy wireless connection for apartment buildings and hotels or for SOHO users to convert wired to wireless environment.

When operating under AP Client mode (named WCR-150GN Smart Client Adapter), the Smart Client Adapter can be powered-up by a laptop via a USB port, which eliminates the need to carry an extra power adapter. The WCR-150GN doesn’t require a driver for installation. With this Plug and Play functionality, it helps simplify the setup process, saving a lot of installation time.

Both WAPR-150GN and WCR-150GN are also available in PCBA form factor. Manufacturers can embed the PCBA in their devices to enable wireless function. In addition to WAPR-150GN and WCR-150GN, SparkLAN also has AP boards based on 11a/b/g/n and 11a/b/g technology. The company also provides full product line of Wi-Fi modules in various form factors (Mini PCI, Mini PCI Express, and USB module). The modules use chipsets from leading developers, Ralink and Atheros. They can be integrated into VoIP Gateway, IP STB, Industrial PC, NAS, Ebook Reader, Medical Equipment, and many more applications. SparkLAN has the most cost-effective model to the highest-performance model. Customers can make choices to their needs based on individual requirements.
