Press release from: Piccola Università Italiana

There are a lot of reasons to study a foreign language and the best place to do this is in the country where the language is spoken. That’s why a lot of people from professionals to lovers of the Italian language, from beginners to advanced levels decide each year to do a study vacation. No matter what your motivation is and if you to start to learn Italian or to improve your language skills you can discover a new and fascinating world when you learn Italian – the language of arts and fashion.
An Italian language course in Italy does not only mean to study during the vacation but to meet new people from all over the world and to get in contact with a different culture while you will also have all the possibilities to enjoy a pleasant holiday at the same time.
Since 1993 the Piccola Università Italiana offers Italian language courses organized by a staff of professional native speakers in the picturesque, mediavel seaside town Tropea. The courses are recognized by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research and are given to small groups of 4-6 students. Also special courses for the hotel and tourism industry, individual crash courses in business Italian or Italian for fashion and style are possible on request. But the language course is only a part of your vacation and so the school offers a rich weekly changing cultural programme and a lot of other activities for the leisure time.

Each Monday the students will find a new weekly cultural programme in the secretary's office where they can sign up for the activities that they are interested in.

The cultural programme includes a video about Calabria, a cooking lesson, a guided tour around Tropea, films in Italian, horse back riding, dinners with the school, music evenings, wine tasting and excursions to explore the beautiful region of Calabria. Some of these activities are organized directly at school while others offer the possibility to get to know Tropea and the beautiful landscape of this area.

Besides the cultural programme there are a lot of other activities like a painting course, participation in concerts, diving, windsurfing, mountain biking, diving, snorkeling, tennis, golf, a fishing lesson or excursions by boat to Capo Vaticano.

All these activities offer students the possibility to get in touch with each others and to make new friendships and at the same time they have the possibility to learn more about the Italian culture and the region of Calabria.
