World Press Freedom Day (WPFD) was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1991 as a day "to celebrate the fundamental principles of press freedom; to evaluate press freedom around the world, to defend the media from attacks on their independence and to pay tribute to journalists who have lost their lives in the exercise of their profession." This day is celebrated each year on 3rd May and the focus this year is on " The Freedom of Information: The Right to Know." With potential to make fact as fiction and fiction as fact, media is indeed the most powerful entity on earth as they control the minds of the masses.

It is essential for media to curtail the tendency to bury the truth in semantics and theatrics as well as fancy in the news if it makes a good story, without much regard for the factual accuracy. Way to Transform Shridhar University established under Section 2(f) of UGC Act. 1956 by the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly vide The Shridhar University Act No. 4 of 2010 is located on the Pilani - Chirawa State Highway No. 13 towards Jaipur in the famed Shekhawati region widely known as the world's largest open art gallery. Spread over 60 acres area, the Shridhar University master plan envisages a School of Engineering and Technology; School of Business Studies and International Trade; School of Basic and Applied Sciences; School of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences; School of Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts and Fine Arts; School of Legal Studies and Governance; School of Education Technology; School of Medicine; School of Library Science and Information; School of Mass Communication and Media and a School of Oriental Sciences.
