New web service - Update-Scout.com informs about software updates

The new web service Update-cout.com notifies its users of new releases and updates of personally selected software titles. As an interactive service, users can extend the software catalog.

To keep the overview of current updates and release becomes more and more difficult for computer users. At the same time, having current versions installed, is more and more important in the light of the threads by viruses and worms. Update-Scout.com removes the burden of keeping track of software releases from the user by providing information about current software versions and program updates. After setting up a free account, a user can create his personal software list from the catalog. Software which is not listed in the catalog, can be added by the user. As soon as new entries have passed the review process, their are available in the catalog. Update-Scout.com relies on the information given on the publisher sites, from which the current version numbers are read. SInce Update-Scout regularly checks the publishers's web page for changes, so that new information is available soon after it has been published and is immediately passed to the users.
