Press release from: Goscor Lift Truck Company

Goscor Lift Truck Company (GLTC) has supplied the Durban branch of well-known supply chain management company, SGX Logistics, with two Crown ESR 5000 reach trucks in a deal worth approximately R1 million.

“These are state of the art machines which lift to 11.5m and are fitted with mast-mounted cameras and high-level positioning systems,” says Michael Keats GLTC Durban branch manager.

Keats adds that his company is genuinely proud to have won this tender. “SGX is a superb operation and supplying them is a feather in our cap,” he says.

SGX has been working in the area of outbound logistics, supply chain management and administration for many years. “Our philosophy is relatively simple,” says SGX Durban logistics manager Wendy Blackbeard. “Our solutions are tailor-made for our customers and we focus on the entire chain using a combination of highly skilled supply chain experts and a huge investment in information technology.”

Blackbeard adds that it was a combination of factors that won Goscor the deal. “Firstly the Crown product is excellent and secondly the manner in which the deal was structured enabled us to know our total costs up front. We knew there would be no surprises further down the track making budgeting and financial control in general that much easier,” she says. “Also, the final price was competitive.”

GLTC is the sole distributor of some of the most famous brands in the industry including Crown, Doosan and Bendi. Crown is the world leader in the manufacture of electric materials handling equipment, Doosan (formerly Daewoo) is a world-class manufacturer of one of the finest selections of lift trucks and offers a 60-month, unlimited hours guarantee on its ‘brakes for life’ system, and Bendi is a revolutionary counterbalanced, articulating forklift, which can work in aisles as narrow as 1600 mm.
