Impressive Centerhung Upgrade at War Memorial Arena

BROOKINGS, S.D. – April 15, 2010 – A new centerhung video and scoring system was recently installed in War Memorial Arena at Oncenter, home of the Syracuse Crunch, an AHL hockey team. The system was designed, manufactured and installed by Daktronics Inc. (Nasdaq-DAKT) of Brookings, S.D.

“The new centerhung is an amazing addition for the arena,” said Sandy Baker, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Oncenter Complex. “Daktronics provides quality, state-of-the-art equipment, and the new video displays will enhance the overall experience for the players and fans.”

The four video displays, with lines of LED pixels on 10mm center to center spacing, measure approximately five feet high by nearly 12 feet wide. These video displays feature live video and instant replay, as well as animations, graphics, statistics and advertisements.

Beneath each 10mm video display sits an auxiliary LED display that measures approximately two feet high by 11 feet wide. These displays allow for scoring and statistic information, more opportunities for sponsor recognition and crowd-exciting graphics and animations.

Custom LED hockey scoreboards were installed above each of the primary video displays.

In 2007, the Oncenter Complex also chose Daktronics to install LED ribbon displays along the fascia. The new centerhung display works seamlessly with the ribbon displays to showcase sponsors and keep the crowds of Crunch fans entertained.

“We’ve enjoyed working with the Onondaga County Oncenter Complex before,” Scott Willson, Daktronics Sales, said, ”and we were happy to work with them again. This new centerhung will enhance the event experience for everyone in War Memorial Arena.”

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with minimal maintenance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
