Green Venture Summit - Fostering the Green Economy

Berlin, 9 April 2010: The Green Venture Summit 2010 is a new international Cleantech conference for startups, investors, thought leaders and successful ventures. The GVS10 takes place for the first time in Berlin on 10 May 2010 in the wonderful conference location called Moskau, Karl-Marx-Allee 34, 10178 Berlin.

The GVS10 is jointly organised by Sarik Weber and Jan Michael Hess who both are serial entrepreneurs in the Internet and Telecommunication industries. Mr. Hess and Mr. Weber expect around 400 participants at their green startup and investor conference in Berlin. The GVS10 takes place in English and will be streamed online as live video. Free Wi-Fi will enable GVS10 participants to go online during the conference.

“Going green is the largest economic opportunity of the 21st century,” summarises the famous American VC John Doerr of KPCB. Jan Michael Hess agrees: "We have developed the Green Venture Summit as an open platform for know-how exchange and business development to foster the Green Economy. Companies should go green now and develop clean products and clean services as soon as possible."

While several Cleantech IPOs are in the pipeline this year, the American battery maker A123 Systems celebrated their IPO already in 2009 - 7 years after founding the company. Though taking green technologies to market takes a lot of time and money, Sarik Weber is convinced about the fundamental business opportunity in Cleantech: "Now is the right time to start up and invest in the Green Economy. We will gather many promising green startups, business angels and VCs in Berlin."

The agenda of the Green Venture Summit features innovative entrepreneurs, investors, experts and industry leaders in selected Cleantech areas such as renewable energy, solar, wind, emobility, energy storage, energy efficiency, smart grid, smart home, green architecture, green agriculture, water and green management.

Green startups are invited to apply by email with an investor pitch presentation for a free 7-minute investor pitch on stage.
