The Australian Mining Industry boom is showing no sign of slowing - according to latest publications by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Minerals Council of Australia. However, many companies have been struggling to tap into this great opportunity for Australian businesses.

A new free report has been released that shows these companies how to market to the mining industry. The report is titled, "Mining Marketing Manifesto - An Insider's Guide to Marketing to the Mining Industry". The author of this report, Calvin Close, spent nearly 20 years in the NSW coal mining industry. He provides a rare insight into marketing - an insider's view of the industry and its people and why so many companies fail to effectively market to the mining industry.

Mr Close said that "many companies had approached us via our Australian mining portal, miningreference.com, asking for assistance in marketing to the mining industry". These companies do not understand what was keeping them from capitalising on the mining boom.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics have just released their Annual "Mining Operations" publication that has shown yet another large increase in spending by the mining industry. In 2004-05, the mining industry spent almost $35 billion on "Purchases and Selected Expenses", up 17% on the previous year. In addition to this, capital expenditure for 2004-05 was another $15.7 billion. The industry is struggling to keep up with worldwide demand for coal, metal-ores and just about every other product that is mined in Australia. This latest ABS publication shows that "Sales and Service" Income to the mining industry reached $71 billion in 2004-05.

A recent report by the Minerals Council of Australia also points to the mining boom continuing at least until 2015.

Mr Close said that their free report was intended to assist these companies to effectively market to the mining industry. Among other things, the report covers how mining personnel think, what is wrong with current marketing, why some marketing is done so poorly. After going through these reasons for failure, the report follows up with solutions to these problems.

The information in the report is worth thousands of dollars to companies looking to market their equipment, products and services to the mining industry.
