Ibstock DZine Tackles Social Housing

Inspirational housing projects from the social and private sectors are brought to life in the winter edition of DZine Guide, the quarterly magazine from Ibstock.

The ‘Living Spaces’ issue of DZine includes in-depth reviews of five housing projects from across the UK, each taking different approaches to design using brick.

One of the featured projects is the BDA Award Winning Bath House project in Barking, which forms part of Barking town centre’s programme of regeneration. It used Ibstock’s cheddar brown brick as part of the design, which created a vibrant finish that compliments the wider built environment of Barking Town Centre.

The DZine’s regular ‘Back to Basics’ feature in this issue looks at the history and technology behind rainscreen cladding, while the Technical Topic up for discussion is the discoloration of materials due to water saturation.

In addition, the magazine includes a special pull out supplement on the recent BDA Brick Awards, where Ibstock took home an incredible nine out of 14 accolades. The supplement takes a more detailed look at these award winning buildings, which illustrate real excellence in design and construction using brick.

A new regular feature has also been added to the magazine, each month the ‘Inspiration Gallery’ will take a look at the many different uses of brickwork in a variety of projects.
