On Wednesday, September 26th from 2 PM Eastern/11 AM Pacific, TBHI will present: Telehealth Documentation & Administrative Compliance: Legal, Ethical and Other Requirements - Part II

Presenter: Marlene M. Maheu, PhD is lead author of multiple telemental and telebehavioral health textbooks and journal articles, including the recently published, “An Interprofessional Framework for Telebehavioral Health Competencies.” With regard to the telehealth documentation compliance training now being offered by the Telebehavioral Health institute, she explains, “The recently published competencies focused its attention on 10 domains and subdomains, which included documentation and administrative compliance.” She continued, “The TBHI documentation and administration training then, focuses on the competencies related to legal, ethical and other documentation requirements for telehealth.”

Dr. Maheu added, “In this webinar series, participants will be given the needed guidance, resources and time to develop checklists to use in their respective work settings to achieve compliance with their respective licensing boards, professional association ethics boards and other speciality groups, such as the URAC, the Joint Commission, the Council on Accreditation, the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, as well as speciality guidelines published by a variety of organizations.”

The first lecture was given in August, but is fully recorded and available 24/7 in the TBHI Learning Center. The two remaining live segments are scheduled for September 26th and October 10th 2018 from 2 PM Eastern/11 AM Pacific. Attendees are invited to register before or after any one of these live events. Past events have been fully recorded and are available along with slide sets for repeated review as needed. Participants may also be eligible to receive a total of 6 CE Hours for legal and ethical training as required by a majority of state licensing boards. Identify at least two types of documents to use as a source for their specific discipline’s relevant documentation requirements for telemental health, telebehavioral health and/or distance counseling
Describe where to go to quickly and easily get relevant documentation standards and/or guidelines
Intelligently discuss why and when to think about technology-relevant standards published by groups such as JCAHO, URAC, COA, and CARF
Name where to go to learn about relevant federal and state regulations related to telepractice
Describe the role of other professionals in reviewing documentation requirements and where to find such professionals when needed
Describe documentation requirements related to team-based approaches to delivering health care that go beyond one’s specific disciplinary telehealth requirements (i.e., integrated care)
