Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. Donates Medical Equipment and Supplies for Haiti Relief

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – (Feb. 25, 2010) – Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (“PSI”) (NASDAQ: PSYS) announced today that it is donating medical supplies to aid in the relief efforts in Haiti after the recent earthquake.

The supplies, including hospital beds, wheelchairs, walkers and other orthopedic and medical supplies, were being housed at Nashville Rehabilitation Center in East Nashville, which closed last fall.

Hope Through Healing Hands, a Nashville-based global health nonprofit organization headed by former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, M.D., is orchestrating the delivery to clinics in Haiti with the help of Soles4Souls and Operation Compassion.

“We are thrilled to receive this generous gift of hospital beds, equipment and supplies from Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. to send to Haiti. Having been on the ground, doing surgery in the clinics after the earthquake in January, I can attest that the need for medical equipment is overwhelming. With our partners, these supplies will be transported, distributed, and well used immediately,” states Senator Frist.

“We are happy to do our part for the earthquake victims in Haiti, but it’s the tireless work of these organizations, like Hope Through Healing Hands, that should be commended,” said Joey Jacobs, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of PSI. “They will make sure the supplies get to the places that need them most to aid in the healing process.”

Approximately 250 donated items are en route to clinics in some of the hardest hit areas of Haiti. Soles4Souls, a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and from individual donors and then distributes them free of charge to people in need, is providing the shipping and transportation through Operation Compassion, an international relief organization based in Cleveland, Tenn. Operation Compassion will oversee the distribution of the medical supplies in Haiti through their network. Hope Through Healing Hands will showcase these efforts with documented pictures and updates as to the final destination of these supplies in the coming weeks.
