Techtextil 2011: exhibitors can register now

The leading international trade fair for the sector set to break records again in 2011 - comprehensive complementary programme in preparation

For the 14th time from 24 to 26 May 2011, Techtextil will be the leading venue for users and developers of technical textiles and nonwovens for research, industry, architecture and other technical areas of application worldwide. “With 1,195 exhibitors from 45 countries, Techtextil set yet another new record in 2009. Given the difficult economic background last year, 7.3 percent more exhibitors was an extraordinarily big jump even for the highly dynamic Techtextil”, said Detlef Braun, Member of the Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt. “Techtextil was our most successful fair in 2009 and looks set to continue the trend”, added Braun.
The registration phase for the next Techtextil began in February. “Techtextil 2009 was also a complete success in qualitative terms. In polls, both exhibitors and visitors said they were very pleased with the results of their participation in the fair”, explained Michael Jänecke, Brand Manager, Techtextil, of Messe Frankfurt. “I am very pleased to say that we have already received requests for more exhibition space from many exhibitors. Moreover, several of the companies that did not exhibit in 2009 have said they want to take part again in 2011”, continued Jänecke. The deadline for registrations to Techtextil 2011 is 31 May 2010.

Registration forms and information can be found on the Techtextil website at, which was fully revised at the beginning of February. The new internet presentation provides detailed information about the product groups and areas of application, as well as services, symposiums and prices. Additionally, it is distinguished by a clear target-group orientation for visitors, exhibitors and journalists, to ensure they can make their preparations for attending the fair quickly and easily.

A comprehensive symposium programme is also planned for the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens in 2011, and this will once again confirm its position not only as an event for the latest products and technologies but also as a platform for orientation and information. Held in the Congress Centre Messe Frankfurt, the Techtextil and Avantex Symposiums offer all exhibitors and visitors an overview of the latest trends and developments in the international sector. The subject of natural fibres, which formed a focal point of Techtextil 2009 with the International Natural Fibres Congress, will be pursued again at Techtextil 2011. One of the aims of the congress was to draw attention to the suitability of natural fibres for use in technical products and applications.
Also popular at the leading international trade fair are the competi¬tions for the Techtextil and Avantex Innovation Awards and ‘Textile Structures for New Building’, the competition for students organised in cooperation with the TensiNet association.

In 2011, Techtextil will be held concurrently with the new inter¬national trade fair for processing textiles and flexible materials, Texprocess (24 to 27 May 2011). Material Vision – Materials for Product Development, Design and Architecture, International Trade Fair and Conference – which was held parallel to Techtextil for the first time in 2009 will also be held at the same time in 2011.
